L’eterna primavera

Demeter, whose name is often associated with the meaning "Mother Earth," is the archetype of the bond between mother and daughter. The goddess gave birth to Persephone, who disappeared while still a young girl. After wandering for days, Demeter—consumed by the rage and despair of her loss—tore her green mantle and scattered its remnants across the grass. Flowers and herbs withered, and autumn arrived for the first time. The earth heard Demeter’s laughter once more only when her daughter Persephone was returned to her; at that moment, spring returned.
